The U.S. government is taking steps to improve the nation’s cybersecurity posture in the face of attacks such as those that hit SolarWinds and Microsoft Exchange. To minimize the chances of similar attacks, the Office of Management and Budget issued Executive Order 14028 on Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity. In addition, an OMB memorandum on data logging set strict guidelines about storing logs.
