What do you really have against 'hippies'? What, did you want to be one when you were younger and they wouldn't accept you into their group? Maybe you think you can beat me intellectually. You probably can, as I'm only 14. I'm young, but I'm very intelligent. I know how the world works. I understand things you probably think fly right over my head. I can see your interests include the world wide web and philosophers. My interests are more along the lines of great poets and writers.

You are entitled to your opinion, as I am mine. My opinion is that you have a one track mind. You can't see what's right before your eyes. Life, to you, is all about politics, beating out everyone you can, and analyzing things until the point where they don't even exist. There is much more to living, my friend. Try to enjoy yourself. Try to look at the sky, the trees, the oceans, the birds and see how much of a miracle everything is. See how beautiful everything is. Try to use your imagination (if you have one). What you really need is someone to talk to. Someone that makes you smile and makes you forget about everything else in the world. Someone to make you happy.

I have found your anti hippie web sight to be offensive, and completely untruthful. I happen to be an extremely intelligent girl who thinks that peace, love, and happiness are very important things to our world. I hate to think that because of what some or most hippies do I'm a bad person. I don't do drugs I don't intend on doing drugs I just like the Grateful Dead. This isn't a hate letter it's just a letter to inform you that not all hippies are evil. Also I mean no personal offense by this I just want you and your fellow believers to understand that hippies played a vital part in our history without them who know what our world would be like. I'm not some freak who lives in a shack and doesn't take showers I'm a normal teenage girl. My parents friends and teachers seem to think that this is completely acceptable. I am no different from you I have my believes and you have yours I'm not saying that yours are wrong just that this isn't a black and white situation. I thank you for reading my email. I hope you will at least take into consideration what I have said. I understand your point and agree some hippies do dumb things but that to say they all do would be a generalization.
