Dear Hippie:

Do to the flood of hatemail we receive from hippies, here's a disclaimer to pre-empt some typical points:

  • We are not "normals", "hillbillies" or anything backward. Our group is highly educated and will destroy you in any political or social debate
  • We hate no affinity for the state of Wisconsin
  • We also hate pansy liberals, ignorant bigots, frat boys, yuppies, jocks, MTV-punks, rich fucks, and a whole slew of other idiotic subcultures
  • Politically, we vote surrealist
  • Love/hate is a duality necessary in life and critical for human existance. Without hate there is no love, so shut up.
  • Blind tolerance is as socially detrimental as blind intolerance.
  • Hating hippies is not intolerance. It is a well studied critique of a bullshit counter-culture
  • Allen Ginsburg was not a hippie. We like beatnicks. Except for the bongos.
  • A hate crime must target a race, creed, color, or religion. Hippies don't count.
  • Why are so many of you goddamn AOL users? You are tools of the Man.
  • You all conform to eachother. We at AHAL buy very little name brand crap.
  • Violence has actually made the world what it is today, like it or not.
  • We are far more intelligent than you. I've never met a hippie with a PhD since Timothy Leary.
  • You are copying what people have been doing for 30 years. You think you are original?
  • We've never met a hippie who didn't fill the stereotype or was just plain dumb. No emails have yet dissuaded us.
  • We are very open-minded people who have studied everything from Theravada Buddhism to bomb making. We have come to hate hippies through personal experience and research.
  • Do not send your emails when you are stoned, they are difficult to read.
  • You are dumb.


    But keep 'em coming kids! We love a good laugh at AHAL, and hippies are the best entertainment.
